Globe Telecom recently held a presscon for their upcoming big event to celebrate the journey of Marlon Stockinger as the first and only Filipino to make his way into the competitive world of Formula One Racing. The much-awaited event is called “Slipstream 2.0” that will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
Slipstream 2.0 is a one-day event for the public, particularly motoring aficionados, where Stockinger is set to drive his famous Lotus Gravity Charouz Renault 3.5 race car around the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. It will also will feature Luxury and Vintage car parade and exhibit, driving exhibitions, motorcycle stunts and other fun activities.
“This sport may not be as common as boxing and basketball in the country, but with Slipstream 2.0, we can bring Marlon’s journey and the F1 experience closer to the Filipino.” said Dan Horan Senior Advisor for Consumer Business. “This year, Slipstream evolves into a family entertainment event. People will not only witness Marlon’s driving skills but there are many activities to enjoy. We want this event to be unforgettable digital lifestyle experience for the families attending by giving them wonderful moments that they can share, “Horan said.
Globe Telecom will also showcase booths at the Main Event Area where guests can discover the latest products and promos through interactive speed games and activities. It will highlight the innovative and groundbreaking Slipstream myLifestyle Plan.
Aside from activities for Marlon fans and both car and non-car enthusiasts, there will be a special guests from Anima Christi Center in Muntilupa City. Anima Christi is a special school for children with learning challenges.
During the presscon, Globe Telecom Huawei Philippines announced also that Globe will offer Slipstream myLifestyle Plan 1499. The plan includes FREE Huawei P8 quad-core smartphone and FREE Spotify and Hooq for three months.
The intimate event was joined by members of the press, bloggers, online community, friends from Globe Telecom and Huawei Philippines, among others. It’s also graced by Globe Senior Advisor for Consumer Business Dan Horan, Globe SVP for consumer broadband business Gilbert Simpao, Globe SVP for consumer mobile marketing Issa Cabreira, and Huawei Technologies Philippines country manager Charles Wu.
The Slipstream 2.0 is a sequel to last year’s exhibition of fast cars and fancy vehicles which attracted thousands of enthusiasts and their families who saw history in the making by witnessing a World Series car burn rubber on the streets of Manila.
On June 27, some roads in BGC Taguig City will be closed from 12NN to 5PM. Roads included are the following: Rizal Drive, 3rd Avenue, 4th Avenue cor 28th Street, 4th Avenue cor 30th Street, 5th Avenue, 27th Street cor 3rd Avenue, and 31st Street cor 3rd Avenue.
