One of the problems in the country is  garbage. We see a lot of waste materials are being dumped on the road, lake river, etc. It’s so sad to see these things in our community. Why do something that can help our mother nature? Turn your waste materials into a wonderful creation.

In the recent event held in Ayala Land Nuvali, Amaia Land Corp. invited design students, professionals, and upcycling enthusiasts to join the Amaia Steps Parkway Nuvali’s The Upcycling Challenge. Participants created marketable and practical home products from scratch using a selected material—in this case, plastic soft drink bottles.

Each teams were tasked to create home products that must be useful to Amaia homeowners—an endeavor that was consistent with the development’s theme: “Living Re-Imagined.”

All the creations were really interesting and unique. Most of them are finished products that could a unique decoration in our homes. Participants were each given 24 hours to create home products using selected materials like plastic bottles, soft drink caps, straw, ropes, papers, used metals and woods.

The finalists focused on the concept of upcycling,  the process of turning goods or waste materials to produce something that is often better than original. Instead of buying materials in the store or mall, they used materials that can be found at home. Materials that are already used and can be reused to make a wonderful creation.
