Globe Shares Disney Magic

It seems like Globe has outdone itself.

As the leading telecommunications company in the country, Globe has been known to partner with other platforms as a means to connect more with not only the Filipino people but also the global world. On May 6, 2015, kids and professionals alike gathered in The Hotel at Green Sun in Makati City to welcome a new partner. Wednesday night marked a comprehensive and multiyear collaboration with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia.

The collaboration will let Filipinos enjoy Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and global leader in short-form video, Maker Studios content via video-on-demand, interactive content and promotions on mobile and broadband. Amongst the long- and short-form programming, interactive content and games, theatrical releases and retail promotions are as follows:




Selected evergreen Disney and Pixar titles  

i.e Toy Story Franchise, Finding Nemo, The Princess Diaries, Cinderella, etc.




Selected Disney TV favorites 

i.e Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Phineas & Ferb,




 Features best short-form videos from Maker Studios’ portfolio of content across gaming, comedy, music, sports, fashion and family




Collaboration to produce custom branded entertainment feat. top digital influencers to support the Globe service


Entertainment apps which provide access to Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD.


Access to the 3 Disney Channels will be made available via this digital destination.




Mobile and web-based games, apps and e-books based on the Disney Franchise


Rob Gilby, the managing director of the Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia gave a short but prospective speech on his take on the collaboration. “We are thrilled to bring the Disney Brand of storytelling closer to more Filipinos through this collaboration with Globe” he says. He believes that with this venture, the two companies are bringing the Filipino people closer to their beloved stories and characters.

Likewise, Dan Horan, Globe Senior Adviser for Consumer Business, is not any less excited about the merge. Mirroring the views of Rob Gilby, he says, “Everyone loves Disney… we are excited to bring the brand closer to Filipinos and give them the best experience on their devices anytime, anywhere…”

The night was magical in every sense- fitting for the partnership on hand. From the initial backdrop of a castle setting, aided to be more realistic by a 360 degree projector screen around the room, the whole venue exuded an allure that which can only be the works of a Walt Disney Production and a Globe Telecom Promotional Event.

The magic continued on as what was presumed to be mere red curtain decorations turned out to be the gates to the one night world of Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar and Maker Studios.


The night was filled with scrumptious and decorative food.
