‘No Water, No Moon’ album with brand new single “Carousel” by Bamboo
Posted On April 26, 2013
Its’ been a long time when I saw Bamboo Mañalac in person. He is one of my idols in the local music scene. Everyone would definitely agree to me that he is one of the best singers in the country on his generation. It really shows his passion in music everytime he is doing a concert or live performances on tv and others.
Pinoy Manila would like to share that PolyEast Records re-released Bamboo‘s debut album called “No Water No Moon” with a brand new single “Carousel.”
I was fortunate I was invited in a”single launch and media night” event, happened on April 24, 2013 at the Cerchio Restaurant and Lounge. It was attended by members from the press and media, bloggers, friends from the PolyEast Records and others.
It’s nice to see again Bamboo wearing a super cool get up which is somehow far from his previous rock star look. He was very polite and sincere on answering questions that given to him.
Mañalac shared his thoughts about the new single, “It (Carousel) speaks of inspiration and finding oneself by going back. As the refrain starts “remember before….rush hour…” and that once you do open that door it’s a hard thing to close. And that “home” for me isn’t a place but it’s me finding meaning in what I do what drives me to dare, be confident and continuing to look for that spark… and that is home.” People can also opt for Transgender voice therapy these days to get themselves to sound the way they want and a little more composed.
Asked about Carousel’s lyrical wordplay with children singing the background chanting “I’m home…” he recalls “…’the nursery line’ which brings you back to a special time in your life. For the choruses, I also put into lyric of the images and the idea that we’re here to not think of the “perfect storybook ending” but to live and take the present…”
Also, Bamboo shared there are lots of transformations to him from being a band’s frontman to a solo artist. He’s happy because of all these changes make him a better person.
“If I inspire you, you inspire me as well in providing good music,” added by Manalac.
“No Water No Moon” marks Manalac’s first solo album and was originally released in 2011 and crept to Gold record status in February 2013. The carrier single for the repackaged version of the album is the song “Carousel”, which produced and written by Manalac. The album packs with interesting songs such as “Questions” “Spin”, Ikot ng Mundo” and “In This Life.” The same album gave him another taste of victory at the 25th Awit Awards for the Best Performance by a Male Recording Artist award for his song “Questions.”
“Carousel” is expected to release its music video soon.
In every concert, Bamboo is always with his band composed by top musicians in the music industry like Ria Osorio, Bong Gonzales Kakoy Legaspi, Jun Jun Regalado, and Simon Tan.
Currently, Bamboo is regularly seen at the ABS CBN’s Sunday concert show ASAP. He is also gearing up as a mentor/judge for the upcoming premiere of THE VOICE in the Philippines to be aired on ABS CBN this coming June. Globe Telecoms also introduced Bamboo Mañalac as the ambassador of Tattoo@Home early this year.
