Oblivion starring Tom Cruise- Pinoy Review

Everyone now is talking and waiting on the newest sci-fi movie of Tom Cruise entitled Oblivion.

Oblivion is centered to a former Marine commander named Jack Harper (Tom Cruise). He is a solitary drone repairman working on a war-ravaged planet Earth and living with his beautiful partner in an airborne tower floating thousands of feet above the Earth. Jack mission is to clean up and destroy the remains of an alien race on a distant planet.

During his mission, Jack saw a crashing object from outer space down to the place just near in his favorite spot. He saw a female stranger (Olga Kurylenko) in a capsule and rescued her. After that, Jack was captured by an insurgency led by the mysterious Malcolm Beech (Morgan Freeman). Malcolm asked Jack why he’s so curious about the past.

There’re lots of things happened to Jack after saving the life of of female stranger. He is also forced to question everything he knows about what happened on earth and  puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

Other cast members of the movie are Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Melissa Leo, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Zoë Bell and among others.

The movie is an original and cinematic event from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Tom Cruise latest movie is very different on his past hit movies like  ‘Mission Impossible,’ ‘Minority Report’ and others. Of  course Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise  who is like a phenomena.  A lot of viewers are still looking forward to see him always on the big screen.

Oblivion is a mind boggling movie wherein you cannot actually understand what’s really the connection of each characters. The effects and audio are very stunning. The movie has some great visual effects that are worth to watch. There are  also some intense fight action scenes but it’s just mainly against with the machines,  though you will still be impressed how these people fight robots.

Kudos to Mr Morgan Freeman, his acting never change and really gives additional spices on the acting with his co-actors in the movie.

Just like other  movies, it ended with a happy story.

Oblivion is presented by  United International Pictures and Solar Entertainment Corporation. The showing will be on Wednesday, April 10 on Philippine cinemas nationwide.
