Unilever partnered with United Nation World Food Programme (UN WFP) for a new project that will benefit 40, 000 children affected by malnutrition in Central Mindanao.
Last October 24, Unliver launched the new campaign “Sandwich Heroes” where Unilever Food Solutions and its partner restaurants (Cibo, Figaro, Bigg’s Diner, Wham! Burger, The Coffee Experience, CoffeeBreak, HotShots, JD Bakeshop, KFC, The Flying Pig, Holy Cow, The Sandwich Guy, and Mushroomburger) will donate WFP Philippines to help pre-school and grade school children who are affected by malnutrition in the provinces of Sultan Kudarat, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, North Cotabato, and Maguindanao.
“Through Sandwich Heroes, we are able to reach out beyond the chef’s kitchen and extend hope to children affected by malnutrition. As part of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan that aims to improve the health and nutrition of 1 billion people worldwide, this partnership with the UN World Food Programme is our way of making a big difference through the small simple act of eating a sandwich.” says Unilever Food Solutions Managing Director Pinky Laurena. “Unilever is thus proud to be a global partner of the UN WFP in addressing the crucial question of food security. We are also thankful to the participating restaurants that have worked hand-in-hand with us in spreading the word about this project.”
