I had a chance to review the Samsung R1 Wireless 360° and I’m impressed by its surprising sound. It features a new built-in tap-and-swipe user interface and an improved Multiroom app for your Android and iOS smartphones, tablets, ipads and even smartwatches.
The Samsung R1 Wireless 360° is an impressive sounding compact Wi-Fi wireless speaker that also features Bluetooth connectivity. It has a premium table-top design that enables it to fit seamlessly into any home. It’s a nice speaker for the kitchen, bedroom, living area and smaller rooms (such as a dorm room).
Design
The Radiant360 R1 is bigger than I expected. I thought it’s like portable speakers that I had in my room. It generally presents a clean appearance and features a bold yet simple upright design. The top surface of the speaker is smooth and shiny, with a volume Up/Down button, and Mode button (TV SoundConnect/ Bluetooth/WIFI) along with an LED Indicator which give you the sign if it’s ready to be paired. At the bottom part of the speaker, you can find the power charging port, usb port and WIFI-Setup button. This speaker measures 123 mm (W) X 234 mm (H).
Performance
The Samsung Wireless Audio 360 R1 is the perfect combination of function and design. I’m really impressed on the sound quality. It offers high-quality and balanced sound. At top volumes, it still delivers solid sound quality and does not distort challenging tracks. There’s also just enough bass and it has crystal clear, bright highs.
Most of the conventional speakers transmit sound from just one side. The Samsung R1 projects 360° omnidirectional sound, providing balanced sound in every direction. So everyone in the room hears the same exquisite sound.
What I also like about this speaker, the intutive top panel interface of the R1 allows you to navigate with ease. Simply tap to control playback, swipe to play the next/previous track and toggle between playmodes with ease.

The Radiant360 R1 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Speaker is not exactly portable. It doesn’t have a built-in battery. You need to plug it into power at all times. This might seem inconvenient, but it has its advantages. It’s louder than a small Bluetooth speaker. Compare with other TV wireless speakers, it’s lighter and smaller which don’t take a lot of space.
Setup and App
Setting up the Samsung Wireless Audio 360 is super easy, with instructions spelled out on the Wireless Audio 360’s manual. Download Samsung Multiroom app on your smart device and follow the app’s instructions from there. The app is available for Android and iOS devices even to your tablets, ipads and smartwatches.
The Samsung’s updated Multiroom app allows you to share music across Wi-Fi connected devices throughout the home. The app also allows you to easily find and select music, and create playlists all from a single screen. I’m able to control the volume, play, pause, or select a different music source by simply taping or wiping on top of the speaker. It can simultaneously stream music to multiple speakers and interfacing with height speakers produces good results & is a good combination of sound effect which is very powerful & effective.
Using Bluetooth
Aside from the Multiroom app, you can play your favorite music through Bluetooth. It’s one the best features of a smartphone that can easily connect to the speaker. The pairing process begins as soon as you power up the speaker. Touch the Mode button on Top of your speaker and one or more times until you hear “Bluetooth is read.” Enable Bluetooth on your mobile phone, and then select Samsung Wireless Audio
Using TV SoundConnect
The TV Sound Connect allows an easy wireless connection between a Samsung TV and your speaker so you can enjoy listening to your TV’s sound through the speaker. All you need to do is touch the Mode button one or more times until you hear “TV SoundConnect is ready.” Press and hold the Mode button for 5 seconds to initialize TV SoundConnect Mode. There will be a pop up appear on the TV asking you to approve the connection. Approve it to continue.

The Samsung R1 Wireless 360° Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Speaker is the functional wireless multi-room speaker I’ve seen yet. It sounds excellent for its size. It’s also small enough to fit on a shelf or table, and can be placed any where at the house.
