Every year, people of Lucban celebrate the most important festival in their town which in honour of the patron saint of farmers, San Isidro Labrador- the Pahiyas Festival.
Pahiyas Festival is annual celebration in Lucban, Quezon, which held every May 15. It is the farmers’ thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest with a grand display of “kiping”, fruits, vegetables and handicrafts adorning every house in the town.
The festival is always joined by locals and a lot of tourists from the different parts of the Philippines and around the world. The highlight of this event is to decorate houses with “kiping” and other agricultural harvest.
For those people who don’t know what is kipping, it is made from ground rice flour, which shaped like real leaves or other leaf forms and colored in yellow, green, red, orange and other bright shades.
The organizers of the event will chose from the participants the best decorated house. The winner will get cash and exciting prizes.
Meanwhile, various activities are lined up starting the first week of May, with the main event on May 15th.
