ALCATEL ONE TOUCH GLORY 918N is on the grab in two available colors: black and white. The phone that I’m going to review is the white which one of my favorite colors. The first time I saw the device, I’m so impressed with the style and size. It’s very handy and convenient to bring. This is a solid phone having rubbery finish back cover that prevents the phone slipping from your hand. Above the phone is the 3.2 capacitive screen that dominates of the device. The touch screen gives you in quick response in navigating and loading of app. Believe me…It’s so fast…On the bottom front part of the phone has three (3) capacitive buttons which Search, Menu and Back, and below of that buttons is the clickable Home button. On the left side is the micro USB slot for charging and connecting to transfer file and tethering to PC/laptop, while on the right side are the power button and volume. The 3.5 mm earphone slot is on the upper part of the phone. At the back of the phone is the 3.2 mpxl camera and speaker grille.
This phone runs on an Android 2.3 gingerbread OS which makes the android experience more manageable. Users also get a refined user interface and access to thousands of available applications. It comes with pre-embedded apps for social networking, music and audio, tools, games, and such which you can spice up and personalize all the more with unlimited downloads through the android market. It has 650MHz processor, but you know what.. even it has slower processor, the processor is surprisingly gives you a snappy interface and incredibly speed in loading and using apps. It has a go0d performance…so fast…
Camera/Video
The phone has 3.0 megapixel camera that gives you quality pictures that you can share instantly on Facebook through its wi-fi connectivity. It has an application that control over white balance, focal length, flash settings, and effects. The good thing it’s faster compare with other phones. The quality of the picture is good however once you set the zoom on the highest level, the picture gets blurred. And also, to have a good shot, you should know the right lighting and angle of the subject. But don’t expect too much on the outcome of the photos..this is not SLR or digital camera. You can also set this phone on video.
Music/Audio
The ONE TOUCH GLORY 918N is a nice music player with Android’s stock music app that can detect all MP3s on your storage. You can add the album cover and lyrics file on each songs.The stock earphones is not bad bec. it gives still quality sounds. But if you’re the type of person who always do sound trip, try to get some high end earphones.
Battery Life
Blaze Glory 918N’s battery is rated at 1300mAh that can be use 2-3 days. Actually I can only use the phone for 2 days for txting and calling including the standby. When I’m using the net and apps on the phone, it depletes faster.
One of the best features of this phone is the Touch Pal Curve wherein you can type by just swiping, so meaning, lesser touches, more messages. It has a predictive text that allows you to choose the right words. I often get errors when touch-typing using this phone but luckily, it has TouchPal Curve keyboard which really works for me.
Another selling point of this phone is the dual-SIM dual-standby feature. You can set the data connection for both SIMS. Just to remind you in putting sim cards at the back of the phone, the 2nd sim card is positioned on different way from the 1st sim card.
Overall , I really like this phone. For the price of 5,999 pesos, it is not bad for an android phone. With its specs and features like Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 3.2-inch screen, dual-SIM functionality, 3G and HSPA, WiFi Hotspot , you cannot get all of these features on an android phone with this incredible price. Even it only has 650MHz processor, it surprisingly gives you snappy interface in loading. I will give this phone 8.5 out of 10.
