This year’s Philippine delegates in the 28th SEA Games trained hard, locally and abroad, not only to cope with tougher competitors and more intense sports challenges, but also to better their chances of hauling more medals and improving their SEA Games rankings. Apart from relying on their individual skills, Filipino athletes will also need to bank on their teamwork, sheer heart, determination and fighting spirit to battle great odds and overcome disadvantages in the grand sports meet.

The Singapore SEA Games is expected to draw visitors from all over the region to some of the competitions’ venues, especially with many eagerly anticipating the Gilas Pilipinas team to defend its men’s basketball title against perennial silver medalists Malaysia and Thailand, and hometown favorite Singapore. Some of the competitions’ venues include the OCBC Arena for the basketball games, the Singapore Expo for boxing matches, and the Singapore National Stadium for athletics events.
