Globe Telecom, the Philippines leading mobile brand, recently announced Pokémon Go partnership with The Pokémon Company, creators of one the most popular entertainment properties in the world and Niantic, Inc. innovative developer and publisher of ‘real world games.’
The announcement was held at the Globe Iconic Store, Bonifacio High Street, BGC, Taguig City. It was joined by members of the press, online community, friends from Globe Telecom and Pokemon Go enthusiasts. John Hanke, founder and current CEO of Niantic, Inc. and Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer of the Pokemon Company also graced the event.

Globe also announced Pokemon Go trainers will find that Globe retail locations and charging stations have become PokéStops and Gyms within the game and allowing Filipinos to catch, battle, and train at any of Globe’s outlets throughout the country.

They can also download free Pokemon Go promo on the Globe Switch App. Included in the partnership are distribution rights Pokemon merchandise, including digital connectors, cool gadgets and a selection of apparel that is perfect for the holiday season.
During the event, Globe surprised guests with the dancing Pikachu. Kids and young at heart really enjoyed meeting Pikachu. Guests also had a wonderful time watching free concert featuring Sponge Cola as well playing several games around the venue.
