One of the colorful festivals in the Philippines that’s celebrated in the town of Lucban in Quezon is called Pahiyas Festival. It’s a yearly celebration held on 15th of May in honor of San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of Farmers.
Pahiyas Festival is the celebration of a bountiful harvest. It features parade of floats, street danceing, marching bands and parade of carabaos.
One of the highlights of the festival is the house decoration contest. You can find numerous decorations that adorn the homes in Lucban. Participants decorate their home with fruits, vegetables, handicrafts and “Kiping” which are made of rice wafers, often shaped like leaves.
The Pahiyas Festival 2016 will fall on Sunday. Expect many visitors and local and international tourists can attend on this event

May 15th (Sunday)
Holy Mass- Starts 6 o’clock in the morning
San Isidro Labrador Procession- there will be procession along Pahiyas Route.
Timpalak Pahiyas- It’s yearly competition for the best ornamented house. Home which is decorated of kiping, fruits and flowers and other adornments.
Grand Parade- It features the parade of floats, street dancers, marching bands and parade of carabaos
Timpalak Pahiyas Kutitap- It showcases the best light designs and beautiful fireworks display

How to get to Lucban by Bus or public transportation
There are buses that offer Manila-Lucena route and Manila -Sta. Cruz route. Bus terminals are located in EDSA kaEDSA-Kamuning in Quezon City, Araneta Center in Cubao, Buendia-Taft Avenues and EDSA in Pasay City. From Lucena or Sta. Cruz, take jeep or mini bus that will take you to Lucban
