The Island of Caramoan in the province of Camarines Sur, Bicol Region gained more popularity when it became one of the settings of reality game show, Survivor.
The Survivor US‘ twenty-fifth season entitled Survivor Philippines and twenty-sixth season entitled Survivor: Caramoan – Fans vs. Favorites took place in Caramoan. Some of the Survivor franchisees that filmed in the past here in beautiful paradise were Survivor France(March 8 2007), Survivor Israel in (April, 2009), Survivor Bulgaria (July 2009), and Survivor Serbia(September 2009) and Survivor Sweden (July, 2010).
The name Caramoan is derived from “”Carahan” for the sea turtle, which was at that time to be found in great number along the shores of the Peninsula. Caramoan is blessed with numerous beautiful islands with white-powdery white sand, amazing caves, refreshing lagoons, artistic limestone cliffs and rocks, rich marine life and others.
There are many ways to reach the Island of Caramoan. First, you can take numerous airline flights via AirPhil Express, Cebu Pacific and Zest Air from Manila to Naga. From there, take a van in Naga Central Terminal going to Sabang. Van charge is Php 100 per passenger.
Travelers can take Bus like Phitranco, RSL Bus, Isarog Bus, Amihan Bus and Raymond Bus with the trip from Manila to Naga. There are also trips directly to Sabang via Peñafrancia Tours or Raymond Bus.
Everyone will definitely enjoy the island and beach around the Caramoan group including Matukad, Pitogo, Sabitang Laya, Manlawig Sandbar, Lahuy, Gota, Lahus, Cotivas Minalahos, Hunongan, Haponan, Basod, Tinago and others.
