The AXE Apollo Team Philippines arrived at the AXE Apollo Space Academy (AASA) Space Camp inside the famed Kennedy Space Center in Orlando, Florida, USA for a five-day astronaut training.
Evan Ray Datuin, Chino Roque and Ramil Santos joined more than 104 other astronaut-hopefuls from 60 different countries for a briefing at the Rocket Garden that had Mercury-Redstone, Atlas and Titan rockets as spectacular backdrops.
During the event, Team Philippines met with some of the AXE Apollo Space Academy judges and executives from Space Expedition Corporation whose shuttle will take 22 men and women, including the first Filipino astronaut, to space.
Through months of mental and physical preparation, the AXE Apollo Team Philippines members are primed and more than ready to face three daunting tasks courtesy of LYNX Space Academy® training missions that await them at the Kennedy Space Center.
These include tests on Zero Gravity via an epic flight that will simulate the feeling of complete weightlessness, Fighter Jet Activity onboard a SIAI Marchetti SF260 and G Force through the G Force Simulator, to determine who among them will become the first Filipino astronaut.
