Robinsons Supermarket recently relaunched “Island Favorites” section in select stores, in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) One Town, One Product Program (OTOP).
The relaunching event was joined by members of the press, bloggers, online community, friends from Robinsons Malls and DTI, among others. It was held in the supermarket of Robinsons Place Manila.
During the event, visitors were treated some Pinoy dishes like Filipino rice cake, pichi pichi, lumpiang sariwa or fresh spring roll and polvoron. They also witnessed folk dancers who showcase their dancing skills in tune of Philippine dance folk music.
Island Favorites is one of the sections in Robinsons Supermarket that feature a variety of locally made products from different destinations in the country. You can find here dried mangoes of Cebu, peanut kisses of Bohol, Biscocho of Iloilo, etc.
One Town, One Product Program (OTOP) is a priority program of the government to promote the unique and competitive products or services of Philippine towns and cities. This program help to attract more investments. DTI said OTOP was an effective strategy in stimulating economic development in Philippine countryside.
