GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) one of the world’s leading research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare companies recently launched its latest campaign called “Win Against Asthma” held at Makati Shangrila.
The new campaign was created to increase awareness and amplify existing efforts to spread information about asthma and how it can be managed. GSK strongly believes and advocates that in partnership with their doctors, asthma patients can realize that their condition need not deter them from achieving their goals.
The launching event was joined by members of the media, bloggers, doctors, friends from GSK, among others. Special guest celebrity Kim Chiu, who suffered from Asthma since high school, graced also the event.
You read it right! Kim Chiu has asthma. She shared that fur from animals like dogs and cats triggers for her to have an asthma attack. Her worst asthma attack actually happened during the taping of her teleserye , Kim added.
Aside from Kim, the two faces of this advocacy campaign are international rock star Arnel Pineda and figure skater Michael Christian Martinez. Both them have also Asthma.
Despite these famous personalities are suffering from Asthma, they don’t let this health condition to stop achieving their goals in life. All of them accomplished a lot in their respective fields.
Win the new campaign, GSK is looking for young asthmatic achievers aged 10-30 year-old who are outstanding in their respective fields (sports, academics, arts, etc.) despite having asthma.
The Search for Winners Against Asthma will run from February until May 2015. Deadline for submission of entries is on March 31, 2015. All entries will be screened during the first week of April. The top 20 finalists will be announced on World Asthma Day, May 5, 2015. The top 10 Winners Against Asthma will be announced and awarded by the 3rd week of May.
A total of 10 winners who will receive P25,000-worth of Sodexo gift certificates,1 Huawei P7 smartphone, P5,000-worth of Folded and Hung gift certificates and became one of the faces of the #WinnerAgainstAsthma advocacy campaign
The Philippine College of Physicians (PCP), Philippine Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP), Philippine Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (PSAAI), Huawei and Folded & Hung support the advocacy.
