Do you realize that running is not an easy sport? Or should I say it is hard to become a professional runner? Perhaps Maja Salvador would definitely agree and say YES!
Friends from media and blogger joined the cast of the newest inspiring film, Thelma for an intimate movie presscon held in Yellow Cab UP Technohub, Quezon City.
The movie is centered to a mischievous and tomboyish teenage girl from ilocos norte. Thelma has passion for running as this serves as an outlet to unsaddle herself on hers life’s misgivings. A disappointment to her father’s dream of having a son for a first-born, she is also an elder sister to a smarter and a more passionate little sister. Despite being secretly envious of her kin, they are best friends. One day, her little sister meets an almost fatal accident crippling her for life, a major blow that will change Thelma’s view in life forever. To finance a surgical operation their family could not afford, Thelma took to athletic running as means to uplift her family from their financial doldrums. As she ventures on this endeavor, Thelma found herself faced with challenges, despair, heartbreak and learnings that enriched her life and more!
Thelma is played by one of the country’s most competent and talented Maja Salavador. Actually, she’s even more gorgeous in-person, and also a very cool and fun to be with. She shared a lot of stories about her experienced on the movie.
“Marami akong eksena na puro takbo talaga, mahirap talaga yung part na iyon lalo na pag mainit ang panahon . May mga eksena din ako na tumatakbo nang nakatsinelas or naka-paa, kaya minsan nagkakapaltos at sugat sugat ang paa ko.pero kinakaya ko talaga hanggat maari,” Maja said.
The film Thelma is directed by young and handsome guy Director Paul Soriano. The director is really proud to all the cast of this movie specially to Maja. As Direk Paul puts it. “ Maja shed blood, sweat and tears to portray Thelma.” The production couldn’t be any happier that Maja wasn’t jus the correct choice, she was the perfect choice! Driven, motivated,passionate, talented,! Very much like the screen role she portrays. Maja Salvador is Thelma.
Jason Abalos was also in the presscon together with Eliza Penida, Techie Agbayani and John Arcilla. They also shared some stories and thoughts about the movie.
Also starring in the movie are Sue prado and Elma Muros who plays Thelma’s running coach with the special participation of Philippine Track and Filed Champion.
Thelma is presented by Time Horizon Pictures in cooperation with Abracadabra Production and Underground Logic, and distributed by Star Cinema.
“Thelma” will be showing on September 7 in theaters nationwide.
