Unilab Active Health held a presscon to welcome its brand ambassadors and Unilab Elite Team members- triathletes Claire Adorna and Marion Kim Mangrobang– for bringing pride and honor not only to the brand and the team, but most especially to the country and to all Filipinos.
The intimate event was joined by members of the press and friends from Unilab Active Health, which happened in Annabelle’s Tomas Morato. Filipina Ironwoman Ani de-Leon Brown and Unilab Active Health’s Sports and PR Executive Lester Castillo also graced the event.
Adorna and Mangrobang brought home gold and silver medals, respectively from the women’s triathlon competition in 2015 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
Adorna finished the race in two (2) hours, thirteen (13) minutes and eight (8) seconds (2:13:08) while Mangrobang was a minute and eighteen (18) seconds behind (2:14:26).
The SEA Games medalists mentioned to members of the press they are very thankful for the support given by their family, friends, Unilab and Filipino supporters. Adorna and Mangrobang also added they are very committed to be qualified in 2020 Olympics.
Coach Ani stated “There are talented but are not disciplined and there are disciplined who are not talented.” She also added Adorna and Mangrobang deserved the medals for giving their best during the game and their sacrifice to be away from their family for the 28th SEA Games.
The Philippines earned a total of 131 medals (29 golds, 36 silvers, 66 bronze) which landed at sixth place. Thailand finished first place overall for the second straight time with 95 golds, 83 silvers and 69 bronzes.
