Tunog Pinoy presented by Avida Land Corp., launched the first leg of OPM Concert Series in Ayala Triangle Gardens Makati City yesterday. This concert aims to promote and ask public support for the ORIGINAL PILIPINO MUSIC (OPM), together with the launching of  second tower of Avida Towers San Lorenzo, Avida’s latest condominium offering in Makati.

As time goes by, the local music scene of the Philippines seems to be slow as the international music became dominant this year. Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift are just some of the international music icons followed by the young generations today. And, it’s really alarming and became threat to our very own OPM.

Last night,  various artists from the local music scene collaborated together in a FREE CONCERT. A concert for Filipino and truly TUNOG PINOY. Performers include acclaimed and multi-talented singer- songwriter  and APO Hiking Socitey Jim Paredes, OPM 90’s  music sensation True Faith, OPM Bossa Nova queen Sitti, alternative rock bands Callalilly, 6cylcemid and Pedicab; and best selling acoustic artists Princess Velasco and Sabrina. This concert will help to preserve and promote OPM; and revive audience’s interest for homegrown artists and locally-produced records.

Tunog Pinoy was a big  BLAST as up and coming OPM superstars including gold artist and composer Myrus, ground breaking OPM boyband 1:43, multi-awarded Arnee Hidalgo, acoustic artist Arles Sales; and upcoming band GraceNote also performed on stage.

Tunog Pinoy was big a SUCCESS. Everyone was screaming and had a great night while enjoying the performances of  featured artists on the said event.  But don’t worry, this is not the end of Tunog Pinoy. This is just the start.  Avida will set more concerts for you around the Metro Manila. Keep on track and see you for more exciting Tunog Pinoy.

Special thanks to Jeman of OrangeMAgazine TV , Judy Ann Teo and Chris Cahilig  of Chris Cahilig Consultancy for the invitation. I really enjoyed the night.
