Pinoy Manila was invited on the red carpet premiere of 2012 GMA Films’ romance-drama film, Just One Summer, starring Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magalona.
The movie is is centered to a rich, rebellious boy named Daniel Cuaresma (Elmo Magalona). He is dreaming to become a doctor just like her mom. After he graduated from high school, he was accepted in a med school abroad for college. Everything was all set –like his passport, visa, house in states…except for one document- the parental consent.
Nyel spent the summer with his father who he has considered long dead and his mistress while waiting for the annulment of his father and his mother’s marriage. To stay in the farm is the condition of his dad for Daniel before he signs the document.
During his vacation in his father’s farm, he met poor girl named Beto (Julie Ann San Jose), who is his childhood friend and is a scholar of whom her family is depending on however, she is holding in a secret with regards to the true state of her scholarship.
As days go by, Nyel and Beto meet and comfort each other amidst their problems and they fall for each other as time goes on and as they get to know each other.
What’s with the movie?
Overall, I like the story of the movie. I’m a bit goes back on my childhood life. The loveteam of Julie Anne and Elmo was really “Kilig.” There’s something spark when they giving smile and looking to each other. No wonder why their fans love them so much is because their tandem was more than chemistry.
Julie Anne has a future to become drama princess. You will feel her emotions everytime she’s crying on the screen. She’s just new in acting but for a beginner like her… she’s really doin great!
On the other hand, Elmo has a great acting on this movie as well. He really portrayed the rebellious rich kid role. The angst, the looks and the appeal, the role as Nyel is perfect for him. At the very young, he has already gained a lot of fans. He’s a certified heartthrob.
The actors like Joel Dela Torre , Alice Dixson, Cherry Pie Picache, Gloria Romero and other roles were also doing a great job. The whole cast showcased an exceptional acting skills on this movie.
With the experience in Just One Summer’s Red Carpet Premiere, was held on August 13 at the SM Megamall Cinema 9, I’m so overwhelmed with the Juliemo’s fans. I saw a lot of reactions like shouting, laughing, jumping and others. They really feel for their idols and the movie. The good thing about them, they were all giving the 100% support to their idols. They were always be there to support the JuliElmo loveteam. It really shows they love so much their idols.
The premiere night also attended with the family and friends of JuliElmo together with the Kapuso artists and GMA Executives to support the lunch of the movie.

Just One Summer will be showing in all cinemas beginning August 15, 2012.
